¿Qué marcadores usa esta herramienta?
Las entradas del índice de nivel superior (tabla de contenidos) ya existentes en el PDF — la página de cada una se convierte en el inicio de un nuevo archivo.
¿Qué pasa si mi PDF usa enlaces a destinos con nombre en lugar de marcadores directos a página?
Esos se omiten en la medida de lo posible — esta herramienta resuelve el estilo común de marcador con referencia directa a página, no todos los tipos posibles de destino en un PDF.
What happens to pages before the first bookmark?
They're included in the first split file, since there's no earlier bookmark to start a new section.
Are the split files named after the bookmarks?
Yes — each output file is named using its corresponding bookmark's title, made safe for use as a filename.
What if my PDF has no bookmarks at all?
You'll see a message that none were found — use Split PDF instead if you want to split by page count or file size rather than by bookmarks.
Does it handle nested bookmarks, like sub-chapters under a chapter?
No — only the top-level entries in the outline are used. If a chapter has sub-bookmarks nested underneath it, those sub-sections aren't split out on their own; they just stay bundled inside that chapter's file along with everything else in its page range.
