Annotate PDF

Draw, highlight, box, and add notes directly on a PDF, right in your browser.

How it works

  1. Upload your PDF.
  2. Pick a tool — pen, highlighter, rectangle, or text note — and a color, then draw or click directly on the page.
  3. Download the same PDF with your annotations drawn permanently onto it.

Does this change the original text in the PDF?

No — your annotations are drawn on top of the page as a separate layer. The original text stays exactly as it was, still selectable and searchable underneath your marks.

What's the difference between the pen and highlighter tools?

The pen draws a solid, opaque line — good for underlining, circling, or writing a note by hand. The highlighter draws a thicker, semi-transparent stroke that lets the text underneath show through, like a real highlighter.

Can I undo a mistake?

Yes — the Undo button removes your most recent annotation. Clear All removes every annotation you've added across the whole document, so you can start over.

Can I annotate a PDF with multiple pages?

Yes — use the page chips above the preview to switch pages. Each page keeps its own annotations, and everything is drawn onto the correct page when you convert.

Is this the same as filling out a form or adding a signature?

No — for filling in form fields or adding a signature, use the Fill & Sign tool instead. Annotate PDF is for freehand marks, highlights, boxes, and quick text notes anywhere on the page.

Is my file uploaded to a server to add these annotations?

No — everything happens entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded to a server or seen by anyone else.
