Convert PDF to Excel
Turn a PDF's tables back into an editable .xlsx spreadsheet, right in your browser.
How it works
- Upload your PDF.
- Each page's text is grouped into rows and columns based on how far apart it actually sits on the page.
- Download a ready-to-edit .xlsx file, one sheet per page.
How accurate is the column detection?
It works well for PDFs with clearly separated columns — statements, invoices, exported reports. A page with tightly packed text, merged cells, or an unusual layout may not split into columns cleanly; you may need to nudge a few cells afterward in Excel or Google Sheets.
Will this work on a scanned PDF?
Not yet — this reads the PDF's own text layer, so a scanned image with no selectable text won't produce any table. Run it through OCR PDF first to add a text layer, then convert the result here.
What happens with a multi-page PDF?
Each page becomes its own sheet in the output workbook, named "Page 1", "Page 2", and so on.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server to convert it?
No — conversion happens entirely in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to a server or seen by anyone else.
